The Process

How it works

We handle everything — from matching you with the right partners to making sure every dollar you spend benefits the communities and ecosystems you visit.

01
💬

Tell us your interests

Wildlife? Cultural immersion? Conservation? Lake Victoria? Share what matters to you — we listen and build around your values, not a package template.

02
🔍

We vet the right partners

We only work with locally-owned eco-lodges, community guides, and WMA operators who meet our sustainability and ethics standards. No greenwashing, ever.

03
🗺️

Custom itinerary, built for you

You receive a handcrafted itinerary — real places, real people, real experiences. Not a package copied from a brochure. Every trip is different.

04
✈️

Travel with impact

We're with you before, during, and after — US-based planning plus in-country Tanzania logistics. Your trip actively funds conservation and local communities.

This is what real eco travel looks like.

Real travelers. Real boats. Real Lake Victoria community guides. This is not stock photography — these moments happened. This is what we build for every guest who travels with us.

Lake Victoria community fishing experiences are one of our most requested additions. Guests paddle traditional wooden boats with local fishermen, visit island markets, and learn about the communities whose livelihoods depend on this vast inland sea.

Our Biggest Differentiator

The WMA
advantage

Wildlife Management Areas unlock a side of Tanzania almost no international operator promotes. We have direct community access — and it changes everything about what a safari can be.

What is a WMA?

Wildlife Management Areas are community-run conservation zones adjacent to national parks. Unlike national parks, WMAs allow night drives, walking safaris, and multi-day bush camps — creating far more intimate, exclusive wildlife encounters while directing revenue straight to the communities protecting that land.

Ikoma / Robanda WMA — Serengeti border, big cats, walking safaris
Burunge WMA — Tarangire corridor, elephants, exceptional birdlife
Enduimet WMA — Amboseli-Kilimanjaro ecosystem, Maasai-led conservation

WMA access means fewer vehicles, more time on foot, and direct community benefit. This is the Tanzania most visitors never see.

🌙

Night Drives

Spotlighting leopard, aardvark, porcupine, and nocturnal predators after dark — simply not permitted inside national parks.

🥾

Walking Safaris

Move through the landscape on foot with a trained community ranger. Track animals, read signs, feel the bush — the way it was always meant to be experienced.

💰

Community Conservation Revenue

Every WMA visit generates direct income for local communities — giving them a stronger economic reason to protect land than to convert it.

Why It Matters

Travel that gives back

Every journey through Tanzania Eco Travel generates measurable benefits — for wildlife, communities, and the ecosystems future travelers will depend on.

🦁
WMAs
Wildlife Protection

Your WMA visits fund community anti-poaching patrols and ranger salaries — making conservation economically competitive with extractive land use.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
100%
Local Employment

Every guide, lodge employee, cultural host, and cook is Tanzanian. We don't work with operations that import foreign staff for roles locals can fill.

🌱
Zero
Net Carbon

All itineraries are fully carbon offset through verified Tanzanian reforestation projects — including your international flights when you share travel details.
